This product comes with a 2 year workmanship warranty on the frame and a 5 Year fade resistant warranty on the fabric.

Warranty covers the umbrella for use in normal conditions. The warranty does not cover damage caused by wind, or misuse. Should a warranty claim be made it is the responsibility of the customer to get the umbrella back to us or a repair depot which we designate. The condition of the umbrella will be assessed and if it is a legitimate warranty claim, we will carry out the repairs at our cost and return the umbrella to you at our cost.
If I order this umbrella how long will it take to get to me?
Each umbrella is made to order. That means, you choose the frame colour, fabric colour, base option (in-ground or bolt-down) and other options and then we get to work to make your umbrella. This usually takes between 3-4 weeks, a bit shorter in winter, a bit longer in summer. If you have a deadline give us a call and we will see what we can do.
Can I install this umbrella myself?
It’s a relatively straight forward job to install a Sidepost Classic. We’ve made a video to show you how to do it.
If you’re planning to install the base into a lawn or garden area, you’ll need to dig a hole an concrete the in-ground socket in. We are happy to ship this our ahead so that you can get this part done and when the umbrella arrives it’s ready to stand.
If you’re bolting to a concrete slab, you’ll need a masonary drill and 4 anchor bolts. We can supply these with the umbrella (we recommend Hilti Anchor bolts for their ease of use and strength). The slab must be at least 100mm thick and reinforced.
If all this sounds too hard we have installers in the capital cities or we can help you organise a local handy man to get the job done.
Do I need any other bits and pieces to install it?
Yes. If you’re bolting down to a concrete slab, we recommend you purchase some anchor bolts from us when you purchase your umbrella.
If your installing into the ground you’ll need to purchase the concrete. Typically you’ll need 6 x 20 kg bags of ready-mix concrete (We do not recommend the use of rapid-set concrete).

Can I leave this umbrella up all the time?
This umbrella is designed to be collapsed in breezy conditions.
Although it is a strong umbrella and will tolerant some wind it is always a good policy to fold it away when not in use.
Is this umbrella Wind Rated?
This umbrella is not Wind Rated, however, if you exercise a little common sense in relation to the wind it will perform very well.
Note, although not wind rated we have found this umbrella is a very popular choice in cyclone zones because it can very easily be 'uninstalled' and put away in the event of a cyclone warning. The canopy part of the umbrella fits onto the frame with a bayonet fitting so to remove the umbrella you just close it, lift and twist the canopy 180 degrees and it drops out of the boom. Then unbolt the boom from the upright post.
What accessories do you recommend I purchase with this umbrella?
If you really want to give your new umbrella the best possible protection you might consider purchasing a Protection Cover. Normal cantilever umbrella protection covers will not fit the Sidepost Classic so call us to discuss the custom option available.
