Freestanding bases can be used with commercial and backyard shade umbrellas, particularly ones that are not installed through a table; hence the name 'freestanding'. These bases can be used by themselves for smaller umbrellas and with additional weight plates or weight bags for larger umbrellas, or in breezier locations. Freestanding bases can have wheels or feet and are able to be moved.
