Who are we?

Shade Australia Pty Ltd was founded in summer 2000 by Andy McLeod with the belief that as the hottest country on earth with the highest rate of preventable skin cancer in the world, Australia not only had an opportunity, it had an obligation to lead the world in this area. The company has grown substantially since then but is still run by the founding family and still brings the family values of integrity and genuine intent to our company culture.

What do we do?

Shade Australia supplies a wide range of high quality made-to-order and ready-made shade and shelter solutions. We currently handle the most extensive range of high end umbrellas in Australia.

Why do we do it?

Well for a start, we genuinely believe in the product; shade that is. As our environment changes we see a real need for clever and comitted companies to come up with creative products and solutions to meet the challenges we face. Shade Australia is we believe, such a company. As the company grows, we are also building a body of knowledge about the best ways to provide shade and protection from UV radation to our community and that's exciting. We feel like we have a purpose and that people are depending on us to succeed.

Where are we going?

We have created a VISION STATEMENT of where we as a company intend to be 100 years from now and we'd like to share it with you.

Our aim is to be the World Leaders of the Sunshade Age. As it becomes more difficult to safely spend time in the sun, the need for sun protection products and services continues to increase. Within a decade, the way Australians, and ultimately the rest of the world participate in outdoor activities will significantly change. We call this The Sunshade Age(R). Eventually, every outdoor activity will require some form of sun protection and we believe shade is the best protection there is. Our company, Shade Australia, is all about meeting this demand by providing high quality products, excellence in product knowledge and world-class service to our valued customers right around the world.
